Emilio Landi
I’m Emilio Landi, a filmmaker with a passion for storytelling shaped by a multicultural upbringing. Born to Chinese and British parents, I grew up in Shanghai and Paris before moving to London, where I’ve spent the past decade. That blend of cultures has given me a unique perspective on film, one that’s always searching for the balance between style and substance, emotion and detail.
I recently graduated from the London Film Academy, where I honed my skills in directing, producing, and the many moving parts that bring a story to life. But what I love most about filmmaking is the collaboration, the energy of a set, the creative problem-solving, and the way every project is an opportunity to learn something new.
Whether I’m working on a feature film, a commercial, or developing my own ideas, I’m always drawn to stories that feel honest and alive. I’m still growing, still exploring, and always looking for new ways to push myself and my work forward.
Take a look at my portfolio, and let’s connect.

The Day of Cucurbitaceae
Turning a mundane supermarket trip into something cinematic was a fun challenge. Ron’s bitter monologue drives the story, so every shot had to reflect his frustrations and small triumphs.
Finding a supermarket on a budget was a struggle—big chains wouldn’t allow it, and small shops felt too tight. We finally secured a local market after hours, racing against closing time to get every shot.
The best part was making Ron’s tiny victory, buying a steak and learning a trivial fact, feel like a grand moment. Seeing audiences laugh while recognizing that absurd sense of control made all the chaos worth it.
Role: Director
This film was all about controlled chaos—turning a petty rivalry into a full-blown, absurd showdown. Adrian and Murphy’s dynamic had to feel sharp and volatile, balancing intellectual pettiness with sheer mayhem.
Editing was a beast. I co-wrote the script and went through multiple drafts to refine the rhythm, making sure the tension unraveled at just the right pace. Timing was everything—each pause, outburst, and shift in power had to land perfectly. Blocking was another challenge, keeping the movement dynamic while ensuring Clemmie, the pug, remained both a bystander and an instigator.
The best part? Watching it all come together, seeing the absurdity escalate in real time, where comedy and chaos collide in the best way possible.

Runway Feast
Runway Feast was an exciting project that combined food and fashion in a way that was both visually stunning and high-energy. As the producer, the biggest challenge was managing the tight schedule while ensuring everything from the models to the food deliveries went smoothly.
The shoot was a whirlwind, balancing the glamour of the runway with the precision needed to make the food look irresistible. The editing process was crucial to keep the pacing tight and energetic, which made for a dynamic, unforgettable commercial.
Winning second place at the Kodak Commercial Competition was a proud moment, knowing the team’s hard work paid off. It was incredibly rewarding to see how a simple concept, food delivered like a fashion statement, could resonate with viewers.

Glenrothan
Working as a production assistant on Glenrothan was an incredible experience, especially under the direction of Brian Cox. The film’s emotional depth—exploring family trauma and reconciliation—required a nuanced, sensitive approach to the logistics of the shoot.
The challenge was in managing the flow of such an intense, character-driven story while staying on top of the practical aspects, like coordinating with the cast and crew and ensuring everything ran smoothly. With such a high-stakes narrative, maintaining a calm and organized set was key.
Role: Production Runner
Graffetta
Shooting Graffetta’s Spring Collection was all about capturing texture, movement, and elegance. The delicate artistry of lace demanded a visual style that felt immersive—soft yet striking, timeless yet fresh.
As the director, cinematographer, and editor, the challenge was in crafting a seamless flow, ensuring every shot highlighted the fabric’s intricate details while maintaining the brand’s signature sophistication. The interplay of light and motion was key, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that complemented the collection’s aesthetic.
Seeing the fabric, movement, and mood blend into a cohesive visual story that felt both intimate and grand.

Falling with You
Creating FALLING WITH YOU was about translating emotion into visuals—capturing love, nostalgia, and fleeting connection in a dreamlike, poetic way. The challenge was balancing intimacy with scale, making the visuals feel both deeply personal and expansively ethereal.
As both director and editor, shaping the mood was key. Every frame had to feel like a memory slipping away, blending soft lighting, fluid camera work, and subtle transitions to evoke that sense of longing. The edit became a dance between image and music, ensuring the rhythm of the visuals matched the song’s emotional pull.

Where Do I Belong?
This project was deeply personal—an exploration of identity, heritage, and the creative journey. Blending moving images, photography, and abstract compositions, I wanted to capture the push and pull between expectation and passion, belonging and individuality.
The challenge was in distilling something so complex into a cohesive visual experience. Every element had to feel intentional, evoking the emotions that come with navigating a multicultural identity. Editing became an act of reflection, shaping moments that felt both deeply internal and universally relatable.

Cafe Cesar
This documentary was about more than just food—it was about storytelling through cuisine. Provence’s culinary world is a blend of tradition and innovation, and I wanted to capture how a single dish can reflect an entire region’s history, culture, and craftsmanship.
The challenge was in the details. Fine dining is an art form, and translating that precision and passion on screen required an immersive approach—getting up close with the ingredients, the chefs, and the creative process. Editing was about finding the rhythm of the kitchen, balancing the quiet intensity of preparation with the energy of creation.
